Waking Up Earlier
Waking up earlier can really help you to give yourself a little more slack throughout the day. When you actually have time to relax and not rush in the morning you can give yourself time to just be awake and mindful, which can really help build momentum for you through your day as far as feeling more peace and less stressed.
One of the reasons I used the word "earlier" rather than early is because you don't have to jump into being someone who is up before the sun or at 5 a.m. even things as simple as waking up a half our earlier than your usual wake up time can really help you to adjust better and feel more accomplished.
I personally like waking up anywhere from 5:30 - 6:30!
Going To Bed Early
If you are going to wake up early and actually feel like you got a fulfilling amount of rest, you need to be more discipline in actually settling down earlier at night. I have personally found that, once again, a half hour more of sleep makes the difference.
When Im honest with myself and find myself scrolling on my phone or being "busy" late at night I have to tell myself "is this worth my sleep?" or "can this wait for the morning?" and most of the time it's not.
Even if you don't plan on waking up a bit earlier, its still good for you to set a consistent bedtime or at least settle down and have time to disconnect before bed. I find that I feel fulfilled when I settle down around 9:00 and try to be in bed around 9:30 - 10:00 or 10:30.
Not Grabbing Your Phone
Sometimes I feel like we can easily find ourselves automatically reaching for our phone. Whether its right when we wake up, when your board, or sometimes we just feel the need too, but this is actually really bad for our brains, it gives us the idea that when we need a form of fulfillment we have to fulfill it right away.
When we teach ourselves to actually do something that is going to be fulfilling long term like freshening yourself up in the morning with brushing your teeth, washing your face, drinking nice cold water, or a nice warm cup of tea rather than grabbing our phone, it could really make a positive impact on you physically and mentally!
Making Your Bed
Can you believe that something as simple as making your bed can help you feel more productive! Well making your bed can really help you to make your room look cleaner and help to clear your mind, plus it is a simple discipline that can help motivate you in bigger scenarios!
Journaling
As cliche as it sounds, journaling is actually really good for productivity. Sometimes when your mind is cluttered just writing it down somewhere can be really helpful for getting things out of your system!
Moving Your Body
Moving your body in the morning or throughout your day can really help you to clear your mind and be more productive. Just by doing things as simple as cleaning up here and there, doing yoga, working out, going on walks, stretching, and many other things are simple forms of moving your body.
Drinking More Water
Drinking water throughout your day can help you to not feel gross and groggy throughout the day, and cold water can be a quick little refresher to help you to have a bit of gratification!
I know their are a lot of people out there who don't like the "taste" of water, but to get your water intake in you can just add things like lemon, berries, mint, and practically any other fruit into your water to make it more fun to drink!
You can try this Cute Infuser Water Bottle, I love it because its cute, discrete, and keeps everything ice cold!
Picking Up As You Go
After a long day I know it can be exhausting thinking about doing "more work", but picking up as you go actually helps you to be more productive and less busy. All the chores like cleaning and washing dishes can be annoying when you have to do it all at once, but by spreading out and eliminating the work that you actually have to do in the end is the best "investment" you can make.
Things as simple as putting things back in their home when your done using them, or washing your plate after you use it is going to save you a lot more time in the long run... less time scrubbing and more time to relax!
